X announces Original Content Rewards to replace Revenue Sharing
What changed
X said it would wind down Creator Revenue Sharing and replace it with Original Content Rewards. New Revenue Sharing sign-ups stopped, and existing members kept earning through 7 September. Eligibility needs an active Premium tier, 500 verified followers and 500,000 Home Timeline impressions from verified users in 90 days. Copied or re-uploaded content, and reposts without meaningful changes, don’t count as original.
Why it matters for creators
Accounts that reposted or aggregated content lose the most. Original posts, analysis and your own media are what earn.
