New X Terms of Service take effect

What changed

X’s Terms of Service dated 9 October 2026 are now in force. For users outside the EU, EFTA and UK, disputes go to Texas courts under Texas law, with binding arbitration (American Arbitration Association) if that forum clause can’t be enforced. You are responsible for features that take autonomous actions on your behalf. Access other than through X’s published interfaces, including scraping, still needs X’s express written permission.

Why it matters for creators

Tools that scrape X instead of using the official API are on shakier ground. If you use AI or automation features, the Terms make you responsible for what they do.
