US creator payouts move from Stripe to X Money

What changed

X said all US creator payouts, for both Original Content Rewards and creator Subscriptions, now go through X Money. An X representative told TechCrunch this is required for US creators. Creators outside the US keep using Stripe. X will issue 1099-NEC forms to individuals and collect W-9s from LLCs.

Why it matters for creators

If you’re a US creator and not on X Money, set it up before your next payout or the money has nowhere to land.
